IIA’s Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is the only globally accepted certification for internal auditors and remains the standard by which individuals demonstrate their competency and expertise in the internal auditing field. CIA(s) are playing a key role in enhancing control environments within entities and managing risks that entities face for the achievement of objectives by providing assurance and consultancy services on governance, risk management and control activities of an entity.
CONTENT
The course content / syllabus for both CertIFR & DipIFR is same
CIA Part I
Essentials of Internal Auditing.
CIA Part II
Practice of Internal Auditing.
CIA Part III
Business Knowledge for Internal Auditing.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Pass all three CIA exam parts within the program eligibility period.
Obtain a minimum of 24 months of internal auditing experience or acceptable equivalent experience includes experience in audit/assessment disciplines, external auditing, quality assurance, compliance, and internal control.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for CIA certification, you must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.(Doesn’t have to be in Accounting or Business).
For those candidates who have not completed a post-secondary degree, they can still meet CIA certification requirements by having five-to-seven years of verifiable employment in the internal auditing field. This, of course subject to IIA’s approval
